SUOMI - ARMENIA ASSOCIATION RY
Finland-Armenia Association (Suomi-Armenia Yhdistys in Finnish) has started its activity since 2013, and it has an educational and cultural orientation. The primary aim of the Association is to support the Armenian community in preserving the Armenian culture and language as well as in strengthening close connections with the homeland – Armenia.
The Association also promotes the development of good relations between Armenia and Finland, and, as a unique bridge, it enhances the mutual cultural cooperation between two countries.
The majority members of the Association are Armenians who moved to Finland from Armenia and different parts of the world, but also Finns who are and/or want to be connected in one way or another to Armenia and the Armenian culture. The Association operates at a national level and carries out a wide range of activities and events throughout Finland (organizing receptions for the Armenian National holidays, Armenian movie screenings, participating in various cultural festivals).
For the children of the Armenian Language School, the Association is actively involved in organizing the Armenian language lessons. These lessons provide children with excellent opportunities not only to learn the Armenian language, but also to learn about the Armenian traditions, values, religion and history.
